The Pre-K 3 Year Old program at Celebration Lutheran School helps students get ready for the classroom. Personal and social development, learning, exploring and playing in a structured Christ-centered environment according to each child’s developmental level are my goals for this program. We use the Get Set for School curriculum for literacy and math, and One in Christ curriculum for faith development along with various thematic units (like the seasons, weather, farm, family, safety, plants and flowers, etc.) Art activities focusing on process and the exploration of a variety of art materials help with readiness in small motor and are used weekly to teach across the curriculum. We focus on shapes, colors and numbers to 10 and are introduced to the alphabet through name recognition. We attend early childhood chapel and have classroom Jesus each week. Science activities are integrated in and throughout learning in the classroom. Students are also engaged in singing, movement and physical activities throughout the day.
