Jen Gaerthofner

5K Teacher

I’m Jen Gaerthofner, but students call me Mrs Gaer. The love of teaching grabbed hold of me twenty-five years ago and has never let me go. God has blessed me with an abundance of curiosity about the world He created. I love to share what I am learning, which works out perfectly, since curiosity is not only infectious, but also a terrific avenue for building a community of life-long learners.

When I’m not in the classroom, I’m adventuring around Wisconsin with my husband, Joe, our son, Elijah, and my sister, Mary. Hiking in state parks and along Lake Michigan are some of my favorite places to be (three out of four seasons, anyway).  Summer finds me in my gardens searching for monarch eggs to raise and marveling at the diversity of flora and fauna that thrives after each of our legendary Wisconsin winters. The tremendous care and love our Creator put into each living thing is a beautiful reminder to me of his great and unfailing love for each of us.

I’m thrilled to have joined the Faith community at Celebration Lutheran School. You can find me in the 5K classroom, or down the hall teaming up with Mrs Zimmermann’s 4K classroom, where we will set our course for Discovery, with Imagination and Wonder as our guides. Adventure awaits!
